National Design Museum in Manhattan
New York has a museum for every taste, and many of them are located on the Museum Mile in Manhattan. One of these museums is the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum. No other museum in America has a collection that has to do only with design, and because of this reason, many people visit every day. The museum is a branch of the famous Smithsonian Museum, and is located in the former Andrew Carnegie Mansion. Guests to the museum will find many different types of design works, all of which are quite interesting. View architectural designs from some of the most well known and respected architects the world has ever seen, and check out some actual furniture designs by Frank Lloyd Wright. The Drawings and Prints section of the museum has even more to offer. You can also see hand guards from a number of katana, swords used by the samurai warrior class. Many of pieces in the museum range from around the period of the Renaissance all the way to the modern age. The Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum is a wonderful place to spend the day, and anyone who has an interest in graphic design should spend the day perusing the collection.
