When you are getting ready to rent a car, make sure that you personally go over the car rental guidelines, policies and procedures before you even get to the car rental office. Sure, you can wait until you actually get to the car rental office to receive your paperwork and complete your car rental, and this is what most people do. However, when you are standing at the counter with a copy of the car rental contract (which is usually a couple of pages long in small print) and you have to sign it and there are several people in line behind you, you will probably feel a little more pressured to sign quickly before you’ve even read through all of the "small print". This is why it’s a good idea to read it ahead of time. A lot of car rental offices are smart in that they know a customer is not going to read through the entire rental contract while they are at the office. Do your homework; read ahead.
