If you are like most people shopping for a refi home loan, you are looking for low refinance mortgage rates first and foremost. Your potential mortgage company’s processing and support systems probably rank down near the bottom rung of the ladder in your decision to choose a refinance lender. A decision to bring processing and support focus up a few rungs can mean the difference between a nightmare refinance and a free and easy closing.
A few questions to ask your loan officer after getting that great rate quote. Does the company have a dedicated processing team, or does the loan officer do most of the processing? What type of technology/coordination does the company employ, or is everything processed through snail mail? Is the mortgage company set up for easy communication and processing ease for it’s clients? Rates are great, but closing a loan with those rates are key.
