When I was fifteen years old, I decided I wanted to own a business. So I talked to my best friend and we decided to go into business together and make our fortune.
We’d both learned to sew pretty well and made doll clothes for a hobby. We’d been giving them away to friends but decided to sell them instead.
Looking back, I’m amazed at how enterprising we were. We sewed on weekends and after school, put ads in magazines, and even opened two commercial mailboxes for our orders.
And we actually made some money. For three years we sewed and saved and had fun. But she got married right out of high school and I went to college, so our business closed.
But for about a minute, we were proud and successful businesswomen.

The one question that should not need an answer I guess is why you want to sell and rent back your home? It’s but natural that you develop the love for the place you live in. The walls have been crafted with your own hands. Each corner of the house has been decorated to make you comfortable. You have many memories associated with this house and nobody among the family wants to leave it. You have to sell it as you need money so this is what you should do just sell and rent back you house to keep everybody in your home happy.

I think I’ve won the furniture war.
You know the one. It starts with the first time your eighteen-month old figures out he can climb over his crib railing and you go through the “big boy bed” issue. This usually involves a lot of tears and some sleepless nights.
Eventually you reach the point where baseballs, footballs, and other sports equipment are bouncing off furniture. That’s if you’re lucky. Because you might encounter the “goth” period, which includes black furniture, bedding, and drapes.
And speaking of bedding, let’s not forget the popular “grunge” style, where the bed is dismantled and mattresses are moved to the floor.
These days my children are grown, I’m decorating in my own style for the first time in twenty-five years and, amazingly, I’m still sane.

I have been an intrepid traveler for most of my adult life, however I have never been to Persia or Iran as it is more commonly referred to now days. I have always enjoyed buying a souvenir or two from the countries I have visited and I think buying arts and crafts in person gives so much more meaning to your purchase. As much as I would love to go to Iran and to the village of Sarough to buy my favourite Persian rugs i.e.Sarough rugs, I must confess with the current political climate the fearlessness of my youth is diminishing with age. My sister, who lives in Tennessee, tried for years to sell me on the advantages of living there. She said I could buy a log cabin and have a lot of fun.
I’ve lived in Florida my entire adult life and all I could picture was me living in a rustic hovel, complete with an outhouse, broken down wooden fences, and no heat in winter.
But it turns out that cabins have come a long way. I visited my sister and we went cabin-hunting. Although the homes we were made of logs and had (non-broken) Split Rail Fencing, everything about them was charming and modern. They had efficient heating and cooling, beautiful wooden floors, and modern appliances. No outhouse.
I am writing this on my cabin’s porch while enjoying the mountain view.
I hate it when Sis is right.

I have a taste for unique things. Especially when it comes to fixing up our house, or filling our house with items from around the world. We have a great room that serves as the staging area for all the little things we have collected on our journeys around the world. I like this whole green technology movement. My calculator can run on solar power, so why can’t the rest of my house? That’s an exaggeration, but it’s something I think about sometimes. A large industry in Massachussetts just switched entirely to wind power. And the factories near where I grew up on the east coast still run off electricity from a nearby dam. So it’s not the newest of ideas, but it’s still exciting. Instead of using our nonrenewable resources, we can harness the power of nature to take advantage of what’s already there. It’s bright! It’s clean! It’s Solar Lights!

I want to change the Wisconsin Vacation Guide to include more of the small lodges that are in the northern part of the state. There needs to be a rating system for them, not only for what kind of services they supply, but also they need to rate the hunting and fishing in the area. Nothing ruins a fishing trip like not catching a single fish. With a rating system we could not only plan the level of luxury that we wanted to pay for but we could also have some expectation as to if we could fill our creel or not.

When hanging a planter from your window or your deck edge insure that the material and the fasteners are sturdy and will not deteriorate from water and soil. Window boxes should be inspected each year to insure the readiness for another season of growth. If you invested in a quality well made box in the first place you should expect it to last for years with a minimum of maintenance. Just remember they spend there working time filled with water and dirt on the inside and exposed to the elements on the outside. The last thing you want is for one to fall and injure someone.
