A southern Californian desert is currently leading the countries charge towards replacing fossil fuels and converting to renewable enrergy and eventually goal of wiping out pollution.
It is a renewable energy nirvana with the worlds most intense sunshine, huge wind power potential and geothermal oppotunities provided by the salton sea.
Legislation has also provided a significant helping by by ensuring all the major power companies in the state are required to purchase renewable energy and they are currently racing to do so.
The deserts and in particular the Mojave desert are also very close to major urban areas making them the perfect place for providing Solar Power For Homes.
Although this is exciting news we shouldn’t get too carried away. Renewable energy currently porvides 12% of californias energy requirement with a target of 20% by 2010. However, many believe this might only be possible by 2012.

Bloggers have become very common on the internet. What started off as a few sites offering free pages quickly turned into a trend in which anybody who has anything to say about anything can blog about it. The iPod Touch’s internal browser and wi-fi capability make it an excellent candidate for blogging software such as wordpress. The wordpress app has been very popular among bloggers. iPod Blog reports that bloggers are constantly on the go so there is no reason they shouldnt have this handy app so they can write where ever they are. Sometimes that will make all the difference.

There are a thousand programs for sale online that promise to “optimize” your computer or your Windows registry. They claim that they can make significant improvements in the performance of your system, but I’ve always been skeptical. I was reading this review of perfect optimizer and thought it sounded promising enough to give it a shot. After downloading the program and letting it scan my system for problems, it did find hundreds of apparent issues. Perfect Optimizer was quick to correct these issues and I was on my way. I don’t know if it is a placebo effect or not, but my PC does seem to be running more smoothly now. It isn’t like a huge system upgrade, but programs do seem to open more quickly and windows does start up a little faster. Maybe there is something to these programs after-all.

Now with all of the new technology, it seems that college kids are becoming more and more innovative. We met these two roomates in our St Louis Computer Repair business, who had a very unique method of getting through college. First they have one student who sits near the professor with a high quality digital sound recorder. The sound recorder records the entire class. Nothing out of the ordinary right? Except they upload that recording to the Phillipines, where the recording is transcribed. Then there is an audio engineer who takes the original recording, cuts out the extraneous stuff, and condenses a 90 minute lecture into 70 minutes, then they take that recording and speed it up with pitch correction, so that you can listen to the entire lecture in 40 minutes. Now they listen to the class on their Ipods. Total cost about $20 per lecture. They divide the cost among the other students, and actually get paid for doing the service. Pretty smart really.

Clear blue water in the ocean is lovely to look at but if we aren’t careful there could be too much water in the ocean one day and we will not be able to live on land because the ice caps have melted and there is no land left. This will be a big shame but its ok really because we’ll all have boats and it can be quite fun like that. You can breathe in clear blue water I’m told but I think this is really only if you’re a fish. Most people can’t do that at all. Oh Yeah by the, don’t forget to buy a Nintendo DSi.

There are various types of protection that you can implement for your camera. This includes such things as leather bags that the camera goes into. With a bag you are safe knowing that if you accidentally dropped the bag your camera would, hopefully, be safe. But did you know that you can actually purchase specific, Professional Camera Insurance that would allow you to claim for the cost of the camera if you need to make a claim. Now altough this should not mean that you have to go crazy and start throwing your camera around, you at least have some level of protection that would give you a payment if you needed to get the camera repaired.

There is always a way to do business and usually the best way is total and complete honesty otherwise things just get fluupy and really not cool at all when there is more to do.

I got my mother-in-law one of those new digital photo frames for her Christmas. She loved it.
I have to say I was pretty pleased with myself because I thought it would be a good idea to load it up with photos of her kids and grand-kids before I passed it over. She loved it and I was feeling nice and smug.
then I was reading a photography blog and I came across a post that suggested not just loading it up before giving the gift - but following up with periodic updates later. Now that is a clever idea. I wish I had thought of it.
